Congratulations to Rath Eastlink Community Centre on achieving LEED Silver Certification.  This 130,000 sq. ft multi-purpose facility has an ice hockey arena, two pools, fitness centre, rock climbing wall and office space.

The facility utilizes ground source (geothermal) heat pumps to generate ice with waste heat being utilized to heat the rest of the building.  Modeling indicated 55% energy cost savings compared to a building built to meet the 1997 energy code.
